My love of photography goes way, way back to my mid twenties. I was visiting a friend and saw a photo of a lone tree, taken in the fall and I was struck forever with the shapes and beautiful colours represented. I believe right then, that I wanted to learn how to take nature photographs. It is at this stage that I also started to appreciate the beauty of nature, realizing that it is Always there no matter what day or what time or what season.

My first camera was a Kodak Brownie and remember being so proud of it. I was constantly taking pictures of someone or some thing. My first go at 35mm, was with a Konica and then went Big Time with a Cannon A-1. That's when things became really interesting learning shutter speed, f stops, depth of field, composition and lighting. My current equipment includes:

Cannon bodies 5D and 7D
Standard Lens 24-105 mm 1:4
Macro Lens 100 mm 1:2.8
Wide Angle Lens 16-35 mm 1:2.8
Zoom Lens Sigma DG 150-500 mm 1:5-6.3
Sigma APO Tele Converter 1.4

As well as shooting nature, I also have a love for taking portraits. All the photos in this site are pretty much family, friends and coworkers and I try to capture a natural smile or action and not forced. I hope you enjoy my work. My goal, now that I am retired is to travel and try to capture the beautiful landscapes of Canada. I hope you will revisit my site regularly and follow my journeys. Please feel free to contact me if you have any interest in prints or for a portrait sitting.
